If you weren’t sure which search engine you should be optimizing your small business website for (despite G having a 60-70% market share, some are still concerned that they’re not #1 on Live Search)…your answer should now be clear: It’s Google.
Google released their browser named Chrome (for its lack of …well…chrome). So far in testing it out its very user friendly, but spartan, which lots of your customers (and website visitors) may like and eventually make it their default browser.
Interestingly, G is a big supporter of the Firefox browser, and they recently extended their pledge of financial support of Firefox for another 3 years to the tune of about $60 million a year.
There have been some reports of sites not working in Chrome, so GO CHECK and make sure your site works. If there’s a problem go ahead and get it fixed. And keep optimizing your site for Google search as they will gain search market share over time because of this. When you opitmize for Google and do it correctly, your rankings in Yahoo and Live should improve anyway, so don’t lose sleep on those.
