NC State Football Video Marketing
Playing a little catch-up on posts here. We’ve been slammed busy with sports and alumni marketing campaigns for schools and we are so thankful for the opportunities we’ve had and the great people we’ve been able to work with. I think what we do has to be right up there among the best jobs in the world.
A few months back we did an Interactive Movie Video (IMV) campaign for NC State (MyNCStateFootball.com) to help with the last bit of football renewals and to launch their mini-plans. You may have seen previous IMV’s we’ve done for the Miami Dolphins, or maybe the campaign we did for Carolina Baseball.
The twist with NC State is that almost the entire production was done using b-roll footage, where the Dolphins and UNC videos were either all shot on site with our studio team or combination of on-site shooting and b-roll.
As you can imagine, using only b-roll helps to cut down on the cost of these campaigns significantly, making them affordable for schools of nearly any size budget, and when done the right way and marketed effectively, they can experience results that are just as good.
This campaign included the video and also a personalized email to around 12,000 names in the NC State database.

From Chris Alston at NC State:
Replay Marketing put together an email campaign that got our fans excited about the upcoming season. The awe factor of the personalized video was a great addition to our season marketing campaign.
At the completion of the campaign, we were able to send thousands of new contact names and email addresses back to NC State to help grow their database.
The site also got significant traffic from Twitter, and fan forums on Scout.com.
Right now we’re working with a couple of SEC and Big 10 schools on IMV campaigns for basketball and other Olympic Sports like volleyball. These will include personalized video, direct mail, and email.
